Why This Therapy Method Works!

The Feldenkrais Method® of somatic education uses gentle movement and directed attention to help people learn new and more effective ways of living the life they want. You can increase your ease and range of motion. Would you like to improve your flexibility, coordination and also rediscover your innate capacity for graceful, efficient movement?

How The Feldenkrais Method began:
Moshe Feldenkrais D.Sc. (1904-1984) was a mechanical and electrical engineer, world-renowned physicist, and judo expert.  Drawing on his extensive knowledge of these fields as well as linguistics, biology, early childhood development, and athletics, Dr. Feldenkrais avoided knee surgery and taught himself to walk without pain after a severe injury.  This event was the catalyst for the development of the Feldenkrais Method - read more here

The Feldenkrais Method® offer techniques that support co-therapy which are widely used in physical therapy and occupational therapy. Most common problems such as muscle injuries, back pain, arthritis or even more complex cases involving learning disabilities, pediatrics and gerontology offer highly effective benefits.  Read this great article for physical performance or listen to what these seniors have to say about their limited mobility as they discover many remarkable benefits.

Most fitness forms show you what to do and ask you to copy what you see until you get it right.

A somatic movement educator, on the other hand, will verbally guide a student into a movement helping YOU to express your kinesthetic ability. My students learn where the movement originates from within. So you see, it's not about executing a movement, it's more about observing and sensing through your own body, watch this video  - Awareness Through Movement®.

Many Somatic movement practices are slow; Feldenkrais, Alexander Technique, Hanna Somatics, and Pilates. Read more about stress-relieving techniques with Feldenkrais. Are you ready? View my Wellness Therapies here.
